Come rain or cold, snow or shine, Salem will hold an all-you-can-eat Chili & Soup Lunch tomorrow - Sunday, March 3 from 11 AM to 2 PM! For only $8 (kids 5 and under eat FREE) try several tasty chili recipes and savory soups with cheese, bread and crackers, beverage, and delicious homemade desserts! (Carryouts are available.) There will also be a basket raffle; tickets are $1 each, 6/$5 or 15/$10; need not be present to win. Get out of the house and come on over to Salem for lunch and fun!

A blessed Eastertide to all! Easter is more than a single day. As Christians, we call ourselves "Easter people," recognizing that the Resurrection of Jesus Christ has fundamentally changed the world, and we no longer need fear the forces of darkness and death in the world. In recognition of this, tomorrow, April 8, Salem UCC will celebrate Holy Humor Sunday, a time in which we will celebrate the joy of being God’s people, living in the light and love of Christ. We will “make a joyful noise” and praise God, sing uplifting songs, and have opportunities for you to share "church-worthy" humorous stories and jokes. You are encouraged to wear bright and even silly clothes, headgear, etc. Anything that will contribute to a festive, fun, and joyful worship is welcome! We hope to see you there!
If you are still wondering where - or if - you will worship on Easter, all are welcome to Salem UCC. We will welcome the Risen Lord at a 6:30 am Sunrise Service with the Dressing of the Altar and Blooming of the Cross; enjoy a delicious Easter Breakfast at 7:30 am; and celebrate the Resurrection in traditional worship with Holy Communion at 9 am. "Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning." (Psalm 30:5b)
Members and friends are invited to our monthly potluck supper! Our next gathering is tomorrow, January 17 from 5:30-6:30 pm. Make a casserole or bring a bag of chips - it's all good. Come and enjoy delicious food and great conversation at Salem UCC!
